British commentator Milo Yiannopoulos was arrested by US immigration officers in Louisiana and faces potential deportation.
British right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos has been arrested and locked up by immigration officers in the United States.
Official government records released on Friday, August 28, 2026, show that officers from the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, also known as ICE, picked up the 41 year old commentator.
He was taken into custody at an airport in the state of Louisiana and moved to a federal holding center, where he now faces the real possibility of being sent back home to the United Kingdom.
The main reason for his sudden arrest is that US authorities accuse him of staying inside the country without a valid visa. For many years, Yiannopoulos worked in America as a loud political writer, public speaker, and former media manager for popular music star Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.
However, immigration officials state that his legal permission to live in the country expired. Following his arrest, political rival Laura Loomer publicly stated that she personally reported him to immigration agents and federal police, claiming he was living in America illegally while causing trouble.

Yiannopoulos first became famous as an online editor for the conservative website Breitbart. Still, he was later forced to step down after making public comments that defended inappropriate relationships between adults and young boys.
He was also banned from major social media platforms such as X and Facebook for using foul language and harassing people online.
Because he has now been locked up by immigration officers, he cannot move freely in America until federal judges decide if he must leave the country.
Taking credit for calling the authorities on him, conservative activist Laura Loomer posted online to explain why she reported his presence.
Explaining her actions to the public, Laura Loomer stated that “I was the first person to report on the fact that Milo was in the US illegally”.
Explaining how she reached out to federal agents, Loomer added that “I reported him to ICE and the FBI. I told you all that Milo was an illegal alien”. Government agents are currently preparing his official deportation papers.
