Jorge Jesus is poised to become the new head coach of the Portugal national football team following the departure of Roberto Martínez.
The 71-year-old Portuguese tactician is expected to take over after Martínez, who led Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, confirmed he would step down following the team’s Round of 16 elimination.
Jorge Jesus arrives after a highly successful stint with Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal, where he notably managed a star-studded squad featuring major international talent.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development in a post on X.
