Political activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has urged President Bola Tinubu to consider returning to school, insisting that education has no age limit.
According to daily post,Sowore made the remark on Monday while speaking with journalists after proceedings at the Federal High court. He said the Tinubu return to school conversation should not be seen as an attackbut as an opportunity for the President to improve his educational record.
The former presidential candidate argued that many Nigerians have returned to the classroom later in life to complete their studies. He said President Tinubu could do the same by enrolling in adult education programmes or other recognised learning platforms.
According to Sowore, it is never too late for anyone to acquire knowledge or improve academic qualifications. He maintained that learning is a lifelong process and should be encouraged regardless of a person’s age in society.
He also said the Tinubu return to school suggestion would help put an end to the recurring public debate surrounding the President’s educational background. The issue has remained a subject of political discussions for years, especially during election periods.
Sowore further criticised the Federal Government’s handling of the education sector. He argued that leaders should demonstrate the importance of education through their actions and promote policies that encourage learning at every level.
The activist maintained that public office holders should always be transparent about their academic qualifications. According to him, openness on such matters helps strengthen public trust and confidence in leadership.
He also stressed that adult education remains an important option for people who could not complete their studies earlier in life. Sowore noted that many institutions now provide flexible learning opportunities, including online programmes, making education more accessible than ever before.
Meanwhile, the Presidency has consistently defended President Tinubu’s educational credentials. Government officials have repeatedly dismissed allegations questioning his academic records, insisting that the President met all constitutional requirements before contesting for office.
Despite those assurances, the comments by Sowore have once again drawn attention to the long-running controversy. His remarks have sparked fresh reactions from political supporters and critics, with many taking to social media to express differing opinions.
