At least five people have been killed and 10 others injured after a Ukrainian drone strike hit a warehouse south of Moscow, as both Russia and Ukraine continued overnight attacks that claimed civilian lives on both sides.
At least five people were killed and 10 others injured after a Ukrainian drone strike hit a warehouse in Russia’s Moscow region overnight, according to local officials, as Kyiv continued targeting logistics facilities it says support Russia’s military.
Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said the attack struck an industrial site in Novoselki, near Chekhov, about 69km (43 miles) south of the Kremlin. The strike sparked a large fire at the warehouse.
“Seven of the injured are in a moderate condition, while one remains in a serious condition,” Vorobyov said in a statement on Telegram.
Authorities did not identify the warehouse, but Ukrainian media reported that it was linked to Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer. Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Wildberries facilities in recent weeks, arguing they are being used to supply Russian forces. Moscow and the company have denied those claims.
Wildberries confirmed that another of its warehouses in St Petersburg was also hit overnight, while local officials reported attacks in Russia’s Tver region.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its air defences intercepted and destroyed 320 Ukrainian drones during the night, describing it as one of the largest waves of drone attacks in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, Russian strikes across Ukraine also caused civilian casualties.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said an 89-year-old woman was killed in Mykolaiv, while two girls, aged two and 12, were among seven people injured after overnight attacks on the southern port city.
In the northeastern Sumy region, a woman and two young girls, aged five and 10, were killed when Russian strikes hit a residential neighbourhood.
Emergency officials also reported that two people were injured in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, while a food warehouse caught fire in the city of Dnipro following another Russian attack.
The latest exchanges underline the continued escalation of long-range drone and missile strikes as the war grinds on, with both sides accusing each other of targeting civilian infrastructure.
