UK prosecutors confirm dancer Poco Lee remains in custody and will appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15.
Popular Nigerian dancer and hypeman, Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, is expected to appear in a London court on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, following official updates from United Kingdom prosecutors.
The news comes after internet rumours circulated online claiming that the famous entertainer had been released from prison.
To clear up the confusion, the UK Crown Prosecution Service confirmed in London that the entertainer is still held in prison custody and his court date remains unchanged.
Poco Lee was arrested by British police after attending a major music concert in London in August 2026. He faces serious criminal allegations before the Snaresbrook Crown Court in London, where judges and lawyers will hear his case.
The main reason why the United Kingdom legal authorities released this official statement is to correct fake news spread on social media about the dancer’s release.
Online reports had falsely claimed that Poco Lee was freed after his arrest, creating confusion among his fans in Nigeria and around the world.
However, British prosecutors explained that the law must take its full course and the dancer will remain in custody until he stands before the judge.
Court documents confirm that Poco Lee faces 5 criminal charges, including attempted rape, 2 counts of rape, and 2 counts of sexual assault.

Under British law, a court order is currently protecting the identity of the person who brought the charges against the star.
Confirming that the court date is fixed and the case is active, the Snaresbrook Crown Court Admin Team Leader, James Baker, stated that “the defendant has been charged with: Attempted rape, 2x Rape, 2x Assault by penetration”.
Confirming that the case is moving forward as planned, the Crown Prosecution Service Press Office stated that “the case was still live and that Odinaka remained scheduled to appear”.
In response to the public outcry and online rumours, Poco Lee’s legal team and management released a statement saying “allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been heard and determined through the appropriate legal process”. Poco Lee will enter a guilty or not guilty plea when he stands in court on September 15.
