Nigerian dancer and social media personality Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has been released from custody in the United Kingdom after spending several weeks in detention over an alleged sexual assault charge.
The 21-year-old artist’s release follows reports that the complainant in the case chose to withdraw the allegations. Prior to his release, Poco Lee’s management had acknowledged the ongoing legal proceedings in a UK court, publicly urging fans and the media to allow the judicial process to run its course without premature judgment.
The news of his freedom was widely circulated by fellow Nigerian influencers. Popular online streamer and TikToker Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, confirmed the development during a recent livestream. Responding to fans’ inquiries, Peller stated: “Yes o, guys, Poco Lee is out. They talk say that girl that sue Poco Lee say the girl run away from the case, say she leave the case. God go bless the girl, na God go bless am; she is a good person.”
Peller elaborated that the withdrawal of the case by the accuser was the direct catalyst for the UK legal system releasing the dancer, adding, “The girl that make Poco Lee go to prison, the girl comot the case, UK lawyer con leave Poco Lee.”
