VeryDarkMan Wins Big as Court Ends Police Uniform Case After Two Years

The VeryDarkMan police uniform case has finally come to an end after an Abuja Chief Magistrate Court struck out the criminal charge against social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan.

The court ruled that the prosecution failed to present enough evidence to prove the allegation.

According to Daily Post, the ruling was delivered on Tuesday, bringing an end to a legal battle that lasted for nearly two years. The case centred on claims that the activist unlawfully wore a Nigerian Police uniform and impersonated a police officer.

VeryDarkMan welcomed the judgment with excitement. Shortly after the court’s decision, he shared a video on Instagram to celebrate the outcome. He described the ruling as a victory after spending months defending himself in court.

“I have been battling this case for two years. Today, the court struck it out for lack of evidence and honourably discharged and acquitted me,” he said while reacting to the verdict.

Earlier, the VeryDarkMan police uniform case attracted widespread attention after a video surfaced online in 2024. In the clip, the activist appeared in what looked like a Nigerian Police uniform. He also introduced himself as “CSP” and jokingly called himself Nigeria’s “number one online police officer.”

However, the video quickly sparked controversy. Prosecutors accused him of impersonation and took the matter before the court. VeryDarkMan denied the allegation when he appeared before the court and entered a not guilty plea.

Meanwhile, the court granted him bail in November 2024 while the case continued. Since then, both parties have returned to court several times before Tuesday’s ruling finally settled the matter.

In addition, the magistrate held that the prosecution failed to establish a case against the social media personality. As a result, the court struck out the charge and brought the proceedings to a close.

The judgment has generated fresh reactions online, with many supporters describing it as a major legal victory for the outspoken activist. Others believe the decision highlights the importance of proving criminal allegations with credible evidence.

Finally, the VeryDarkMan police uniform case has ended with the court clearing the activist of the allegation. The ruling closes one of the most talked-about legal disputes involving a Nigerian social media influencer in recent years.
