Comedian De General Urges Nigerians to Vote Instead of Protest Against Insecurity

Nigerian comedian De General has shared his views on the country’s security challenges, saying that voting remains a more effective tool for change than public protests.

The De General insecurity comments came during a livestream with TikToker Johbad, where the comedian discussed insecurity and the role citizens can play in improving governance.

De General Insecurity Comments on Protests

According to De General, past protests in Nigeria have failed to deliver the desired results despite the sacrifices made by participants.

He argued that demonstrations often end without meaningful change while lives are sometimes lost in the process.

“Staging a protest won’t solve anything. There is no effect in staging a protest. The last time we protested, lives were lost but they said nothing happened,” he said.

Elections Offer a Better Path

Speaking further, De General said Nigerians should focus on participating in elections and obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The comedian maintained that citizens can influence the country’s future by voting for leaders of their choice through free and fair elections.

“The best thing we should do is to get our PVCs and run a free and fair election. We should vote in who we want,” he added.

Public Reaction to De General Insecurity Comments

The De General insecurity comments have generated discussion online, with many Nigerians debating whether elections or protests remain the most effective way to demand accountability from leaders.

His remarks add to the growing conversation about insecurity, governance, and civic participation in Nigeria.

As discussions continue, the De General insecurity comments highlight the importance of active involvement in the democratic process and the role of citizens in shaping the nation’s future.
