Nollywood actress Doris Ogala kneels inside a Lagos court to apologise to the judge for her loud outburst during her previous appearance.

Nigerian movie star and politician, Doris Ogala, made headlines once again after she openly knelt down inside a Federal High Court room in Lagos State to beg for forgiveness.

The actress, who has been facing serious legal charges regarding alleged cyberstalking and harassment, humbled herself before the judge to say sorry for her loud and unruly behavior during her previous court appearance earlier in the week.

The dramatic courtroom scene happened when the actress appeared before Justice Akintayo Aluko for the continuation of her ongoing legal battle.

During her previous court session on Wednesday, the movie star caused massive drama inside the hall by shouting and singing loudly after the judge ordered that she be kept in prison custody.

Her emotional outburst forced the presiding judge to abruptly stop proceedings and leave the courtroom, disrupting more than seven other important legal cases scheduled for that day.

Recognizing the gravity of her actions and seeking mercy from the bench, the actress addressed the court directly with deep regret.

Speaking directly to the judge inside the courtroom, Doris Ogala stated:

“I am very sorry, my Lord. I apologise for my bad behaviour. I have never been to prison before and I wasn’t expecting that I would do that.”

She went on to express deep sorrow for her actions, promising the court that she would never repeat such behavior again.

Continuing her plea for mercy before the bench, the actress added:

“I regret my actions and I apologise to my Lord. I tender my apologies wholeheartedly. Sorry, this will never happen again going forward.”

Justice Akintayo Aluko revealed that her previous behavior was so bad that it could have easily landed her straight in prison for contempt of court.

The judge noted that he had considered punishing her severely for trying to disrespect the court proceedings, but decided to show mercy after listening to her remorseful words and apologies from her defense lawyer.

Her legal representative, Marshal Abubakar, also spoke on her behalf in open court, apologizing for the unexpected outburst and assuring the judge that his client understands the rules of the court much better now.

Following the sincere apologies, the judge listened to arguments from both the defense lawyers and the police prosecution concerning her request to be released on bail while awaiting trial.

Although the judge accepted her apology and decided not to charge her with contempt, the court announced that the official decision and final ruling on her bail application will be delivered on November 6, 2026.

Until that date arrives, the actress remains in custody and was returned to the correctional center while her supporters and legal team await the upcoming court date.
