The Kebbi ADC Democracy Day message has called on politicians across Nigeria to put the interests of the people above personal ambitions and political gain.
As the country marks Democracy Day, the Kebbi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) said the occasion should serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by Nigerians in the fight for democratic governance and the need for leaders to remain committed to public service.
Kebbi ADC Democracy Day Message to Political Leaders
In its Democracy Day statement, the party urged elected officials and political leaders to focus on policies and decisions that improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
According to the ADC, public office should be seen as an opportunity to serve the people rather than a platform for personal enrichment or political advantage.
The party noted that many citizens continue to grapple with economic hardship, insecurity, unemployment and other pressing challenges.
It stressed that leaders must prioritise practical solutions that address these issues and improve living conditions across the country.
The ADC also emphasised the importance of accountability, transparency and responsible leadership, saying these values are essential for strengthening democracy and restoring public confidence in government institutions.
The party further called for unity, fairness and inclusiveness in governance, arguing that a people-centred approach is necessary for sustainable national development.
While congratulating Nigerians on the 2026 Democracy Day celebration, the ADC encouraged citizens to remain actively involved in the democratic process and continue demanding accountability from those in positions of authority.
The Kebbi ADC Democracy Day message concluded that Nigeria’s democracy can only thrive when leaders place public interest above personal gain and work towards the collective good of all citizens.
