The Nigerian Army has denied reports claiming that movement has been restricted in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State which took place on Friday 19th June,2026.
Captain Mazinho Attah, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for 14 Brigade in Ohafia, Abia State, signed a statement from the Nigerian Army.
In a statement, the Army described the reports as false and urged residents not to believe or spread unconfirmed information.
According to the military, there is no restriction on the movement of people or vehicles in Ohafia and nearby communities.It was explained that people in the town were reacting to a rumor. The rumor claimed a truck full of people believed to be Fulani herdsmen were seen asking for directions to Ohafia LGA. But the Army said the report was false and was never reported to any military unit or agency.
Residents were encouraged to continue their normal daily activities without fear.
The military also called on members of the public to support security efforts by staying alert and reporting any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
It further assured residents of its commitment to protecting lives and property, adding that it will continue working with other security agencies and community leaders to maintain peace in the area.
As Stated by the daily news post,The Army advised the public to rely on information from official sources and avoid rumours that could create unnecessary fear or tension.
