Music legend Jay-Z is confirmed to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show in Los Angeles on February 14, 2027.
Famous rapper and music boss Jay-Z is going to perform at the biggest football show in the world. Apple Music and the NFL shared the big news during a Monday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The big show will happen during the middle of Super Bowl LXI. The game is scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, which is right near Los Angeles.
Apple Music broke the news to fans online with a short and fun message on social media. “GOAT’s out of the bag,” Apple Music wrote in a post on X, tagging Jay-Z.
Jay-Z has been helping pick and produce the halftime show performers for several years through his company, Roc Nation.
Even though he has helped run the show behind the scenes since 2019, he has never performed on the halftime stage himself.
His wife, Beyoncé, has headlined the big show twice before, but this will be Jay-Z’s very first time starring as the main performer.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell talked about how long he wanted Jay-Z to take the stage himself. “For several years, we’ve had the privilege of working closely with Jay-Z and Roc Nation, and I’ve seen the extraordinary impact he has had on the Super Bowl Halftime Show,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
“When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him,” Goodell continued. “I couldn’t be more excited for fans around the world to experience the artistry, creativity, and cultural impact he will bring to the Super Bowl stage.”
Jay-Z shared his own feelings about reaching this huge moment in his long career, noting how much work it took to get here.
“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z shared in a statement with the official announcement. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
The 56-year-old music star is very familiar with SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. He just finished playing big concerts there for his recent tour celebrating 30 years since his very first music album, “Reasonable Doubt,” came out in 1996.
Over his long career, Jay-Z has won 25 Grammy Awards and made history as the first rapper ever put into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Fans and music lovers are already very excited to see what kind of surprise songs, guests, and amazing show he will bring to Los Angeles on Valentine’s Day in 2027.
